STS uses conventional program organizational and support methods for the management and control of all major contracts. Each program is managed by a program office. Program office staffing normally includes, at a minimum, a Program Manager, Project Engineer, Lead Designer, Data/Configuration Engineer and Manufacturing Planner.
The Program Manager has overall technical, schedule and cost performance responsibility. The Program Manager serves as the principal customer interface and works in coordination with the STS Contracts Department.
Work Breakdown Structure
All programs are divided into manageable work elements through the development of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) with interrelated schedules and budgets for each element. Labor and material information is detailed by open WBS element and total program expenditure summaries are provided on a weekly basis to each program office.
