Manufacturing

STS has a fully staffed manufacturing organization which includes machinists, welders, wire persons, painters, wood and fiberglass workers, sheet metal and structural shape fabricators and assemblers.

The STS integrated manufacturing organization for planning, fabrication and assembly provides checks and balances during the production phase of a project. Production control is achieved through the implementation of established manufacturing policies and support related procedures.

The Manufacturing Management System consists of three major sections: planning, scheduling and manufacturing project coordination.

Safety Training Systems (STS) occupies a state-of-the-art facility totaling over 80,000 square feet at its headquarters in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The facility is equipped with the latest in manufacturing technology, including overhead cranes and large high-bay manufacturing areas. This allows STS to be versatile and functional in its manufacturing processes.

The facility is divided into different areas: the fabrication/weld shop, the assembly area, and the paint booth. The fabrication shop is where all of the metal components are manufactured. The assembly area is where all of the components are assembled into finished products. The paint booth is where all of the finished products are painted.

The state-of-the-art facility allows STS to be a leader in the manufacturing of aviation training devices. The facility's versatility and functionality allow STS to manufacture a wide variety of products, from simple to complex.

Facility

Equipment

The fabrication shop is equipped with a variety of machines, including lathes, mills, waterjet and routers. These machines allow STS to manufacture complex metal components with precision. The assembly area is equipped with a variety of tools and fixtures. These tools and fixtures allow STS to assemble the components quickly and efficiently. Our industrial paint booth is oversized and equipped with a variety of precision painting equipment. This allows STS to paint finished products with a high-quality finish no matter the size.

Advanced Manufacturing

STS offers advanced 3-D Printing and Additive Manufacturing capabilities for Direct Digital Manufacturing using Model Based Definition (MBD) files containing Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) data. This allows STS to move efficiently from digital engineering data to accurate, production-ready components while reducing tooling requirements and manufacturing lead times.

These capabilities make STS well suited for Low-Volume Production, Rapid Prototyping, Functional Test Articles, Replacement Components, and Custom Tooling. By integrating additive manufacturing with our broader engineering and production capabilities, STS provides customers with a flexible, cost-effective solution for specialized aerospace, defense, and commercial applications.
